I am bereft, lost in a maelstrom of anguish from which I may never emerge. The bachelor bungalow of my dreams has gone! I went to the estate agent web site where this house was listed in order to gaze wistfully at it, as has been my wont of late. But I was struck to my core with horror when I found that it was no longer there. Someone bought it – someone actually paid 300 grand for a house in Rotherham, and what’s more a house with only one floor! (Sigh). Well, I hope they enjoy their new home, for they will be living my dream.

Once again, I made an attempt today to tidy or at least reduce my mountains of clutter. I began with the best of intentions, but those quickly evaporated, because the same thing happened as always happens; I got distracted. I have saved everything I have written since I was around 10 years old. I even have some stuff from when I was 8. Today I unearthed some stories that I wrote when I was around 15 or 16. One item really grabbed my attention. It was the first page of a script I tried to write. It was about a mad scientist who one day triumphs in his experiments to ignite a nuclear reaction inside a black pudding. He declares that his colleagues at the Snooty Inventors’ Club will soon be eating humble pie. But his assistant points out to him that the nuclear black pudding has blown up his house and incinerated all the money that the scientist had hidden under his mattress, which means he doesn’t have any capital to develop and market his invention. Undeterred, the scientist embarks on a mad moneymaking scheme. This involves breaking into a poultry farm, stealing some eggs and injecting them with a serum made from wolfs bane. This produces an army of werewolf turkeys which the scientist attempts to use to rob some banks, but things get out of hand and the monster turkeys run amuck. I have tons of stuff like this that I have completely forgotten about. I really must get all my notes into some kind of order some day.

After seeing the WATCHMEN trailer today, I went hunting around for my copy of the graphic novel - you know, just to do a bit of revising. But I couldn't find it. I know I have it somewhere buried beneath all my mountains of clutter. Man, I am so untidy! I just can't bring myself to throw anything away, that's my problem. I will get around to tidying up one day, just as soon as I can afford to hire a fleet of refuse trucks and a civil engineer. In the mean time I will just have to order a brand new copy of WATCHMEN from Amazon... or download it from limewire, (shh, you didn't hear me say that).

STOP PRESS!
We have new Star Trek promo posters off the port bow,(exclamation mark):
http://trekmovie.com/2008/07/17/preview-of-star-trek-comic-posters-with-first-cast-photos/
